AIM
Enhancement of the analytical-syntactic competence in students for developing a professional command of English sentence and grammatical patterns.
OBJECTIVES

- Grammatical Hierarchy: Word-Phrase-Clause-Sentence
- Sentence types
- Sentence Structure: Constitutents
- Sentence Structure: Functions and categories
- Noun Phrase
- Verb Phrase
- Clauses: Types of clauses
- Transformations
- Sentences within sentences: Embedding-Substitution
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
Students are expected to work on the course material before coming to the class. They are also expected to take part in class discussions.
EVALUATION
The final grade will be a composite of four assignements:
